Oh my GOSH! I'm familiar with the 166 but this one is transformed into an egg!!
Ouovo is Italian for egg and by Jove, that's what it looks like. It carries the MM designation and that's for the Mille Miglia, 1000 Mile race in Sicily. I like the spyder roadster somewhat better but as a one-off, this one is far more than intriguing!
Fantastic choice John, thank you so much for the continuing education my friend!!
I think its really “sexy” and a model should most definitely be manufactured preferably in 1/24. Thank-you John for the introduction.

Odd duck for sure, but a successful one.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
what a fabulous story "to firmly assert their place as some of the best gentleman racers in Italy." What a lifestyle hey? To be a "gentlemen racer" in the early 50s. Love this "Winning his first Mille Miglia in 1950 wearing a double-breasted brown suit" as you did in 1950!
Lu (I miss his posts) actually had a very rare quality 1/24 model of the car. I'm pretty sure this is it:
I've found the maker Tron, and they are still in business, making a variety of European, UK cars in a variety of scales, all appear to be very high quality.

Shame Lu is not around. Maybe if Chav sees this post? Chav has an excellent knowledge of rare models
