What a Valiant styling exercise! Other than the hood bulge and a couple tiny other issues, it's SHARP!

An interesting design. But, I always felt Exner was reaching a bit at this stage of his illustrious career. Here's an interesting article on this car.

Looks like a great example of the "design by a committee" look. I'd love to have an accurate model of it.

John, I agree with your thoughts about Exner at this stage of his career with Chrysler which time proved to be true.

@geoff-jowett +1  I agree about the "design by committee" styling.  It looks like a complete "Dodge plodge" of  styling ideas cobbled together.

Considering that it was introduced in early 1961 but designed in 1960 and is supposedly a production-ready derivative of the XNR, which was designed in 1958-59, it's not a collection of design themes, but most likely their origin. Its influence didn't really show up until 1962

Good point JK....the design cues are certainly evident in the '62 Dodge and Plymouth....and of course the Valiant.
