Looks like a rowdy teenager who just got braces!
I'm guessing it wasn't easy finding two ladies wearing chrome plated dresses...ah yes the frivolous fifties.

Ahhhhhh! Thanks for the clarification Bob - here I thought it was Reynolds aluminum foil. LOL!
Never been a fan of that particular grille. IMO, here's a case when it's a toss-up for what's gaudier, the grille or the outfits. Those ladies look like Klaatu's backup singers.

Lol ! Back in 1950, I am sure all this was probably considered the absolute height of fashion......both the Buick and the gals and their outfits !

Pretty sure you're right Mike - I would have thought so. Of course I was only 3 in 1950.
And it is astonishing to think the girl models are now 106 years old but the Buick may just look exactly the same as it did back then !
Ah...the curiously styled, one year wonder, "Overbite Buick". I REALLY disliked this look up until ten years ago or so when after much comment on its front end on this forum, I found myself liking it for its uniqueness and very bold statement. I'm not sure how Buick sales fared that year compared to the shoulder years but the fact that this was a one year feature makes me suspect it may not have been that well received. Like many oddball cars of the past though, it now adds color to our rich North American automotive history.

Excellent point Mike. But one small amendment; the model on left, Eloise, just turned 105. And STILL wears aluminum foil dresses! LOL!!
So well stated my friend! Many of us are like that. Perhaps the older we are the MORE like that we become. Like aging to a fine wine, with time, our viewpoint is subject to change. The 'different' becomes more familiar and less uncomfortable.Ah...the curiously styled, one year wonder, "Overbite Buick". Lol, Tony, yeah my math was off .... they are more like a sprightly 105.
But maybe they still drive .... or at least have ... Buicks !
