I don't think there were too many automobiles around on Earth 80 million years ago, but petroleum and gasoline were starting "production" and also it would lead to synthetic rubber in later years. In 1933, at the Chicago World's Fair, Sinclair Petroleum had a big moving life-size display outside showing some of the guys and gals around on Earth at that time ....... and Goodyear Tires had a sightseeing rubberized blimp that flew around.
Many years ago, I grabbed these frames from a movie my Grandfather took at the Fair. His car undoubtedly used Sinclair gas and had Goodyears tires !

Yes Ed, according to google it was a 60s ad. I had a different thought that involved “Trojan” but wasn’t appropriate to post 😂

It was 1970 or 1971 and I was living in Miami. Some friends and I paid to ride on the Goodyear Blimp and flew over Miami & Miami Beach. Wonderful experience that I still remember clearly.

It would be a sensational sightseeing experience ! I believe rides on the Goodyear blimp were given as prizes on a TV show and I remember one flying over our house in Riverside in the 1960's sometime.
Plus, the story of the disappearance of the two-man crew of the Goodyear L-8 U.S. Navy patrol blimp in early 1942 off San Francisco is a classic mystery.

The anti-submarine blimp came down later just on land south of San Francisco, I think partially deflated, but no one on board. I believe the blimp was under shore observations nearly the whole time. I understand the Navy airmen were never found but the L-8 gondola I think was re-used on a later patrol airship.
