Tough choice, John, but it's hard to beat that vintage Mercury. Love the Olds but the Merc gets it tonight.

This is a tough one for me. I went with the Oldsmobile for its OHV V-8 and near bulletproof Hyda-Matic transmission.

I like both, but Olds for mechanical superiority gives way to Mercury for creature comforts.  An uncle had one and it was a pillow to ride in!

Learned how to drive in the 1950 Oldsmobile with vaper lock. Would have to leave it running so I could get back home.

with a bunch of work the merc made a nice 50s cruiser ,the 50 Olds was a asskicking hot rod from the git go.

My second car was a 50 Merc coupe. I like the Olds but the Merc is an absolute dream car in my mind.
