This one was tough, as I like both cars a lot.  But the edge goes to the Oldsmobile for three reasons, 1) the color; 2) the non-split windshield; and 3) it's an Oldsmobile.  Smile

The Oldsmobile looks slightly more modern, probably because of the one piece windshield, but I still prefer the DeSoto overall.

I prefer the styling of the Olds in '51; the DeSoto is a nice looking car, but seems dated by comparison.

If you are viewing these thru 80 year old eyes,is there a correlation to what a 70 year old might see in a `61 auto issue?.....not the same car,of course....but the same nostalgic "value"

Hummmm, so 60 year old would be 1971 cars;  30  year old would be a 2001;  10 year old would be 2021 car, sounds about right.  90 would be 41 cars, 100 would be 31;  still sounds about right.   I prefer fifty one to seventy one, almost fits.
