If I had not seen the pictures, I would have readily chosen the Pontiac. I still do, but I am amazed at how similar the cars look. Nice job, John B!

I went with the Poncho. Both nice cars but, to me, the Chieftan has more character!

Pontiac for the easy win in '52. Its general styling, generous trim application and  attractive grille are much more appealing IMHO.

Pontiac for me as I’ve always like their looks.  I don’t recall seeing the DeSoto while growing up but it is pretty sharp.  😎

Interesting.  I don't see the two looking even a little similar.  Might be time for my eye exam.  Smile

DESOTO!  Looks light years more more modern than the "suspenders" wearing Pontiac.  And I love the "toothy grill".

I've seen more Mercury's/Buicks wearing that grill than DeSotos just as I've seen more Mercury's wearing Buick's sweep spears. DeSoto although I like the Pontiac a lot.

George; to my eye this early toothy grille reminds me of a kid with buck teeth who needs dental care.  The '53 grille is better and the '54 is awesome!

LOL, similar to the "Big Tooth" Buick grills on the late 40's/early 50's Buick's.  But those expressive grills of many late 40's/early 50's American cars were to my eyes what gave them their own identity's.  I love 'em!
