DeSoto please John. I love its toothy grin and it rode well too.
The Olds is a Fiesta with its wrap around windshield. Love both but the Fiesta is such a rare car, it has to be Olds.

That it is!

Definitely the Fiesta. I have the Brooklin turquoise/white and have had the pleasure to see the orange/white 1:1 that the Brooklin special is based on. It's a beautiful car.
Even if it was a lower spec Oldsmobile, it would get my vote, especially with its 'saddle bags' rear fender treatment. However, I like the DeSoto too.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
That generation DeSoto is growing on me. But it's not quite there yet. Olds!

The Olds is a special car and knock-out handsome. But the DeSoto has gorgeous contrasting colors, chrome wire wheels and that chrome-toothed smile. DeSoto for me today please.
@perrone1, it has been said, "Of the 1500 or so cars made in '53 that actually had wire wheels, there are only 5000 remaining."

Don't care for the toothy grill, but prefer the DeSoto over any car GMC made in '53.
I like the Olds slightly more but prefer the styling of both of these cars much more in '54.
@jkuvakas Absolutely!
Same with the 1967 Corvette. There were 3,754 made with the 427-435 hp motor, 16 of the 427-435 with aluminum heads produced, and 20 of the 427-430 [L-88] made.
Today you can triple those numbers.
John, could you have made this one any tougher on me? The '53 and '54 DeSoto's are my favorite years of that marque. But then you put it up against a '53 Oldsmobile! You trying to push off the cliff? I went back and forth all day on this one, finally the only thing I could do is "flip-a-coin", declaring that "Heads" I vote for the DeSoto and if it came up "Tails", I vote for the Oldsmobile. I tossed a quarter in the air, it came down, bounced off a table, hit the floor standing on its side next to the table leg. I had no choice but to rule this one a "TIE".

Oh, and a question. Why didn't one of the mints in the heyday of the 1:24 scale give us the Oldsmobile Fiesta? They gave us the Cadillac Eldorado, the Buick Skylark, and the Chevy Corvette! BUT NO OLDSMOBILE FIESTA! I will forever believe this was a no-brainer and a major boo-boo on the mints part for not producing it.

Love the Oldsmobile, bit I love the DeSoto more.
