So many beautiful cars of so many brands and years and styles. You do not think, on a normal basis, of which ones to compare and which you'd choose.
Holy mackerel John, this is tough - love them both. The DeSoto is a large car; doesn't appear to be so in view of the Buick. The DeSoto is 214.5 inches long. The Buick is 8 inches shorter!! Overall length is 206.3 inches.
Buick for me.
Tough call, but thanks to Tony I'll take the Buick since it's that much smaller.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
LOL, I picked the DeSoto because it's that much bigger. Large and in charge. Plus, I like the looks better as well. That's just me though. 😁
I am all for the DeSoto also. Having driven it, it did not seem that large and hugged the road well. Not as floaty as the Buick.
I am also going with the DeSoto for the same reasons as Geno!
Buick. I'm just not used to seeing that grill in a DeSoto instead of a 49/51 Mercury. 😊
DeSoto, though not fond of either.
I hate to say I went with the Buick. Desoto looks dated. It’s large compared to the slightly smaller Buick. Like the trim on the Buick but can’t get passed the droopy teary headlights.
Not a fan of either but I choose the Buick just because I prefer its styling.
Portholes and dagmars and grille-oh my! And I like the headlight treatment and full wheel openings of the Buick too.

To my eye, the De Soto lacks drama. It's nice and looks good as a convertible. But the Buick catches my eye and holds it. I vote Buick.

Buick got my vote, but the DeSoto is nice too.
Gents, thanks for your replies.

@sizedoesmatter Same. But I really like that DeSoto too.
Wow, a list of all the things I dis-like about the Buick.Portholes and dagmars and grille-oh my! And I like the headlight treatment and full wheel openings of the Buick too.
