Same here on the Mk II. This was the start of the long nose Mark's. My Mom had a III, IV, V and a VI. When I first got married, I ended up buying 2 MK VII's. Loved driving those cars.
Two fantastic cars, among my favorite 1950s, but the Continental is too amazing not to win.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I rather like both but to me, the nose and grill of the Mark II is iconic.
Premier. One of my all time favorite car designs of all times. While I realize the rarity of the Mark II, The Premier just does it for me as being perfect in every detail. My other favorites for the same reasons are the 1953 Buick Skylark, 1962 Cadillac Coupe Deville and 1963 Thunderbird Sports Roadster.
That's one special list of fantastic cars. I'd also add your Imperial!Premier.
I LOVE them both but the Continental gets the nod. IMHO it exudes a European elegance and has a unique, refined and relatively unadorned styling, especially considering its glitzy American automotive era.
The Mark is an outstanding vehicle and would be a great collectors piece, the first personal luxury car. However I never cared for the overly long hood of the pony or personal luxury cars. I have never been around or could afford luxury cars. So personally I don't care for either. I do like the Premiere's styling quite a bit, I would not have bought either [could never afford either], today I choose the Premiere for looks only.
Let me say that I like both cars, but I only like the Continental because if its rarity of the times. However, if given a choice of which one I want to own and park in my driveway, the PREMIERE wins hands down! It along with the '56 Cadillac (IMO) are the two most beautifully styled cars of the Fifties decade. And that said, both lost that beautiful styling for '57. Again, IMO.

@perrone1 Thanks Tony. The Imperial came to me through a trade with my dentist for my 55 Thunderbird. I always liked the 55 Imperial but never thought of it in the same way I did these others. I guess the Imperial would be considered in my second tier of favorites along with my 61 Vette and a host of other cars.
Two longtime favorites. The stylists for the Mark II checked all the boxes to make it unique for its time. It was extra special since it was pretty much hand assembled and priced at the top of the scale. But for me the '56 Premiere is my pick because not only was it beautiful, but it was real...a neighbor up the street had one and it was part of my growing up.
Gents, thanks for the pics and responses.
