'56 Mercury or Oldsmobile?

I do believe I favor the cleaner design of the Oldsmobobble. A lot less gingerbread than the Merc. I really do like the '56 Montclair but the color combo heightens the excessive frills.

No contest, Mercury please. My favorite year Mercury. Didn't care for Olds until '57. Neither in '58.

If the Olds was a Ninety Eight it would be closer for me. Mercury.

I much prefer the crisper styling of the Mercury, which makes the Olds look a bit chunky and bloated in comparison. I prefer the '54 & '55 Olds front end treatment to the '56.

Love both but it's the '56 Oldsmobile...to me it appears to have more substance.

Oldsmobile please but I do like the Mercury a lot.
I believe the Ford designers took the ‘56 Oldsmobile grille and bumper and turned it upside down for the 1958 Thunderbird.
