Buick for the easy win for me.  I love the look of it; especially that killer roof design.  Not really a fan of Chryco in '57-58.

Love the colours of both. DeSoto made a major design jump in 1957. It takes my vote here. One thing that put me off with the Buick that year was the massive distortion in the edges of the wrap around windshield. Put up with it on a trip from Canada to Florida and back. Did not notice it with other GM cars.

The Buick is Beautiful! It has just the right number of pre-1958 headlights and the right size grille. The body is trim, swoopy and sexy. The DeSoto is getting a jump on over-amping the headlights, it has too much mouthwork and those fins are getting on my nerves by now; put it in the holster, Wild Bill!

Ugh! I want to be loyal to Chrysler Corp. but the grill on the Desoto is a lot.  I like the Buick boxyness.  Too bad they lost their minds in 1958.

1957 desoto firesweep front

DeSoto please, but the cheaper one with the single headlight. I like the lower wider look of the DeSoto.

Buick. I love the overall design of the 57 Buicks especially the Special and Century with their three piece back windows.

I too like the 3 piece back windows of the Buick, but for overall design, easily DeSoto. It's just soooo sleek.🤑

BUICK please!  The "3-piece rear window" is an artform in and of itself.  As for the DeSoto, well if it had been a '57 Chrysler against the Buick, this would have been harder for me.  But the DeSoto, after it's incredibly beautiful '56 got wacked out for '57.  Yup, BUICK please!

@ed-glorius There is one thing I admire about the DeSoto, at least the Firesweep
