Like both. But, totally dislike the Fireflight's grill & bumper. Same for the Olds' fender skirts. Dislike the wheel covers of the Olds and love the wheels of the DeSoto.

But love the color breaks of the Olds two-tone treatment while frowning on the DeSoto's. So far, a tie. Nope, by a slim, thin margin, I vote Olds.

Despite my avatar I voted DeSoto.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

The wheels and color separation on the DeSoto are excellent. Everything about the Oldsmobile is fantastic. Not even close, Olds.

I much prefer the earlier years of DeSoto' styling particularly the '55-'56 and say the same for all Chryco styling.  For this reason I voted for the comparatively dated looking Olds.

Two of my 5 favorite cars of  '57.

Of the 5 two were not suited for my way of life buy still favorites, the Cadillac series 62 & Thunderbird.  Cars I would have bought in  order of preference,  1. DeSoto, 2. Pontiac, 3. Oldsmobile.

So, for this compassion it is the DeSoto.

I love the bug eye look of the DeSoto.  To me it looks like a happy face, just smiling going down the road.

@carsman1958 John....you would be happy too if you were given "the forward look". Wink

The Olds is nice, but it doesn't offer enough to compete with 'The Forward Look'.

DeSoto is my choice of this pairing. I like the  ‘forward look’.

Both are such beautiful cars ! Real standouts on the road or as a replica in any scale.
