Oh so close, but I voted Pontiac. Ask again in a few minutes...

I love the single head lamps of the Pontiac but dislike all the schmultz all over the sides. I hate the DeSoto's wheel covers but love the rest of it. Gimme the Adventurer.

In real life I'd substitute these wheels and be a happy camper:

Another tough decision but I finally flipped a coin and the DeSoto was heads and heads won. I agree with Tony about the wire wheels being favored for the DeSoto. I have those wheels on my Imperial and spent several hours this weekend cleaning them

@bob-jackman Bob, I also dislike the "gold" hub caps on the DeSoto but I wanted both cars to look factory original.

I pick the Pontiac by a large margin in spite of its styling being comparatively dated.  I was never a big fan of the forward look and much prefer the '55/'56 DeSoto design.

Both my favorites, only I prefer the '57 DeSoto with the single head lights. Love the Pontiac but I am voting DeSoto for it's lower wider look.

In '57 my purchase would depend on the test ride and the deal offered, could be either one.  But If I had the money I would have bought the'57 Cadillac.  Great year '57; Thunderbird, Cadillac, DeSoto, Pontiac, Oldsmobile would be my choices.

Back then it was Pontiac all the way. Today, I like that fresh athletic look of the DeSoto.

It's the fuel injected Bonneville for me by a small margin over the DeSoto with the "gold" hubcaps.
