@jack-dodds, please be gentle, I'm only a shell of the man I once was.

@jkuvakas Sounds like you need a nice break down in Bermuda JK. How about I send one of my local villagers over with some tickets and drive you and the missus to the airport? Of corsair would be the fastest way to get there. I'd like to send you in a Citation but I'm afraid tickets in that fare range'r too costly for this old pensioner.
The '58 Dodge is nothing more than a '57 with a very mild update. Some here are just happy to beat up the Edsel, shame on them. The '58 Edsel had totally new styling, much more attractive than the clunky '58 Ford or the overdone '58 Mercury. I rank hold the Edsel high in the styling category for 1958.
Gents, thanks for your responses.

@sizedoesmatter I think the Edsel was a decent looking car John, just very different, and agree that it sometimes gets a bad rap. I certainly prefer its styling over the Mercury in '58-'59. The '59 is my favorite Edsel.
I voted for the Edsel, of the two, the Edsel says more to me. I will admit however, that the Dodge was a gorgeous car. I was at the show where these cars were displayed in the Dodge's photo. Great colors, of the eight cars in that round (I seem to remember) that Imperial next to the Dodge was the sweetheart of the show.

In spite of everything I've always had a certain fondness for the original '58 Edsel.
generally speaking I was also quite a fan of Chrysler's "Forward Look", but that '58 Dodge has to be the clumsiest looking of the breed.
I'll take the Edsel.
However, for '59 the Dodge was much improved to my eye, and in terms of distinctive appearance the opposite was definitely true for the Edsel. so the vote would be reversed.
