It looks like this 1958 Edsel was in the process of being restored, but for reasons unknown, all work ceased and it was pushed out into the driveway. You can see the clearcoat peeling on the roof and the paint flaking on the trunk. This is an entry level Ranger model, identified by the lack of molding holes on the front fender and door. The Pacer would have the holes for the moldings.
The covered car looks to be a 1967 Chevelle. I've never seen it without the car cover.
Thnx Pete, it’s sad to see these pics. You are the “Nick Shirley” of neighborhood automotive enigmas.

Sad indeed. I'm a long time Edsel fan so looking at this is especially sad. Pete do you know how long these cars have been left out side to deteriorate?

I hope these old guys survive and are brought back to life. I think they are generally much more identifiable and perhaps worthy than many things that pass as "vehicles" now days.
A fun series Pete, thank you!
I agree, sad to see, but I'm also enjoying these Pete. Thank you for taking the time to share. Hopefully they'll be resurrected. 💯😊

John, I just took a 5-minute walk under cover of darkness to check the Edsel's registration. It expired in 2008. I would guess it's been parked in the driveway 10 years or more. About 7 years ago there was a pretty nice 1964 Imperial Crown 4-door parked next to it with a for sale sign on it. It's long gone, so someone rescued that one.
Guys, I'm glad you're enjoying this series. Got plenty more to share!
something original and very interesting, thanks Pete. Very, very rare to see something similar here in suburban Melbourne, I'm wondering why?
Pete thanks for the update...looking forward to more from this series.Pete do you know how long these cars have been left out side to deteriorate?John, I just took a 5-minute walk under cover of darkness to check the Edsel's registration. I hope someone eventually saves this Edsel. I don't recall the last time I saw a restored or really good original Ranger HT.
