'59 was not one of my favorite years for my favorite make of car, Chrysler. I'll take the Buick!
I like both cars a lot but give the nod to the Buick for modern styling.
I love the Buick, but looking at the 2 pictured here, the Chrysler comes off as a more luxurious car.
Not overly fond of either car, I lean toward the Chrysler but voted tie.
I think both are ugly as were most American cars in 1959. It was a year of extremes.
@david-green 1958 worst year for American car styling/design followed very closely by 1959 then the 1960 in my opinion. Right after the nice '55 - '57 and just before '61 to '64 styling/designs I love best.
WOW! Tough one, but when pushed for an answer, the BUICK wins out. I would however take either car, anytime, if the option were there. And I'd be all over both if they had been available in 1:24 scale.
The colors on the examples shared are knockouts.
The '59 Chrysler was a nice looking vehicle and I am always thrilled to see one, but no contest here the Buick is such an amazing car. One of the best designs in the late 50s.
It's funny how we all look at things differently, I think some of the best designs the automakers gave us were from the 1957-1960 years. Much less interesting before and after except for a few here and there. 1957-1960 pretty much has me loving every one that was built and my model collection reflects that as I usually buy anything from those years.
