'60 Chevrolet or Pontiac?

Pontiac. The Chevy's styling falls between two stools to me, 1959 and 1961. Pontiac is sleek.

I voted no selection, they’re both bland in styling IMO. How the hell did these styling “bricks” come out of GM along side the gorgeous ‘60 Buick ??? I would love to read any literature by the designers as I think the Buick beats the $hit outta them.

I like both cars but, the Pontiac just a bit more. Owned a well used '60 Chevy 4 dr ht Impala I6 3 on the tree. Much preferred [loved] the '61 versions of both. Hated the '59 Chevy, liked the '59 Pontiac.

I think 1960 was an interesting year for auto designers. Look what we had in 59. The luxurious over the top cars and then look at 1961 where the cars hardly resembled any thing from the 50s. 1960 seemed like it was a transition year for all auto makers that is why we see many unusual designs for 1960 only. Chevy was a little less adventurous than Pontiac. It looks like they just shrunk the 1959 but Pontiac stepped out of the box and brought us something original although less decorated.

Can you believe a diehard Pontiac nut like me voted a tie, lol? Both are beautifully designed cars, toned down from the extravagant 59's. Both have been long time favorites. 🤑💯 Thanks John, you really made me smile with this one.😁

Pontiac. Styling far surpasses the Chevy in my opinion.

Voted Chevy. Never care for Pontiacs till 1961.

Impala styling for its time was exciting and a touch flamboyant. Its fin treatment was muted a bit from the '59, which was a nice send off to the GM fin era; especially considering the gorgeous redesign of the '61. The '60 Pontiac was not as exciting; I very much preferred the shoulder years.

I like each one of these GM automobiles and they both are dramatic examples from that transition period in American car design.
