Pontiac. It's one of my favorites. Elegant and powerful.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

I don't like either, I LOVE both!

The Avante is cool. The Grand Prix is cooler. Pontiac for me John.

No question about it the Pontiac gets my vote. The Avanti is iconic just not my style.

That is a great Pontiac. I am still choosing the Avanti here. Someone has to support the underdog. Other than a bit of body flex, the Avanti was a fun car to drive with very unique styling.

Having owned an Avanti, I really love the way they handle but I still favor the Pontiac on looks alone.

Avanti looks too European for my taste and I was lead to believe Studebaker QC was not too good.

Pontiac please, just beautiful.

Both are such beautiful and powerful automobiles ! A prototype Avanti was briefly at our house and I got to sit in it. It was like a spaceship !

Thnx John, I sat and pondered for quite awhile as both are such beautiful automobiles. I can’t just refer to them as cars. I was 10 in ‘63 and was always fascinated by the Avanti so therefore it is my choice. I’d rather be behind the wheel and in that smartly styled interior. I still think that this Avanti styling is still fresh inside and out.

Of course, the Grand Prix is beautiful, but it resembles every other car on the road. It's just another pretty face. Now the Avanti is new and fresh... it's unusual, exciting and powerful, not like anything else on the road. The Avanti is my pick.

Gents, thanks for your replies.

My '63 GP was white, with a black interior.  Loved the car and wish I still had it.

I am in total agreement with John B on this one. A tough choice as both cars are beautiful. But the Avanti is more distinctive.
