I like both. Had a '66 Parkland when in h.s. but that Poncho has stolen my heart tonight !

Thank-you John...

I went with the curvaceous Pontiac over the linear Mercury.

Pontiac in '64 but I did not care for full-size Pontiacs '65 up. Liked the square Mercurys thus my vote.

Nothing against the Merc, but that Pontiac is gorgeous!

Liked the square lines of the Mercury but other aspects of the Pontiac made me choose it.

1965 Was seen as a banner year for car design by some. GM, IMO, was at the top of their game and Ford was not far behind. Even Chrysler, after a disastrous few misfires in the market, was in on the class act. So was AMC. I'll go with the 2+2 on this one.

I believe in 1965, Pontiac received numerous styling awards and might have been Motor Trend Car of the Year. 🤔 🤔  Despite once owning a 1966 Mercury Parklane convertible (similar to this '65 Merc) I MUST choose Pontiac. It was gorgeous then and gorgeous now!

This is an easy one for me.  PONTIAC all the way!  Was not a fan of the "square-box" look of the Mercury.  I owned a '66 Pontiac, and it was one of the smoothest rides I've ever enjoyed.

This was a very close comparison for me; I voted Pontiac by a hair margin.  I love the styling of the Pontiac and recall the rave reviews it got from the public when it was introduced.  In '65 I did however also love the newly designed '65 Mercury (and Ford Galaxie) with their crisp, squarish styling; exactly opposite of what GM was doing.  This year was a good example of how great car styling was back in the 50s and 60s; each car maker (even the smaller players) offered their unique look.  I sure miss that.

Well, at least I'm consistent.  John, a couple of days ago you posted '66 Mercury vs. '66 Oldsmobile.  I stated on that one that I didn't like the "square-box" look of the Mercury.  The same comment I used above from this "which one" from a year ago.  The PONTIAC in this is drop-dead gorgeous!
