I LOVE the 66 Charger.  A school chum's Dad traded in his 59 Olds 88 and bought a brand new lilac Charger with the 383 and I used to get rides from school occasionally.  What a cool car it was back then!  I like the Marlin but there's no contest here.

It is interesting that both the Charger and the Marlin came up with similar styles for 1966. Of the two, I think that the AMC Marlin carried off the design best. Certainly, both are striking.

Charger. The interior is the best part with the full length console.

The '65-'66 Marlin was interesting but the proportions always seemed off to me. It was built off their mid-size platform. For '67, they moved it to the full-size platform and, IMO, transformed the car.

I agree with John.  If this had been the '67 Marlin, there would have been no trouble with my vote.  But in '66  . . .   probably the Dodge.

I agree John; the 66 has a slight hunchback effect, whereas the 67 is more in proportion.

To be honest, neither car got second looks from me.  I wasn't a fan of the squared off hatch-back styling for either car.  But forced to pick one over the other, I go with the AMC.

I might be in the minority here, but I'd have kept the stylish and beautiful '59 Oldsmobile 88.  The '66 Chargers just didn't do it for me.

The 66 1st generation charger is conspicuous by its absence in 1:43. There may have been a 68 charger a while back but I'd love either a 68 Charger or Plymouth GTX with current levels of detail.  I would lunge for any of these!

Never really liked the fastback on a full or intermediate size cars.   Marlin was first in'65 but  I believe the Charger was not a copy but an engineering design to make the Charger quicker in NASCAR.  Much prefer the standard hardtop Coronet as seen in my convertible Charnet, best of Charger & Coronet.  Owned a '66 Charger loved the dash and rear bucket seats and full length counsel.

My '66 Charger owned '86 to '99 all original 26,800 to 34,000 miles
