After posting a Tekno version of the Tornado, it cannot help appreciating the design. I picked it over the Thunderbird here. Thanks for continuing this interesting choice series, John.
Olds by 10 miles for me. I loved the Toronado when it was introduced and always thought it was the best looking year for this marque. The T-Bird didn't interest me after 1963; its styling tanked big time.
I like them both. I would like to own both or either of them. It comes down to which one would I prefer to drive on a regular basis. I guess my choice is the T-Bird.
Good exercise on THIS one John; thanks!
Although the 66 Thunderbird is not my favorite when compared to the 65, it is still my choice over the Toronado with those exaggerated wheel arches.
Toronado for its looks and engineering.

I went with the T-Bird on this pairing. Never liked the Toronado, probably due to this being the first front wheel car at the time. Who wanted a front wheel drive, you could not do burn outs.
For me, this "Which One?" is "ugly vs. ugly". Neither one grabs me to it as being a car I wish I could have. And I will point out, as I've mention previously regarding the Toronado, I took my drivers training in one, but that never made it a favorite car of mine. And what's with the "Hearse" looking top on that Thunderbird??? Anyway, I voted for the Toronado, but only because it's slightly less ugly than the T-Bird.

Every T-bird hardtop made doesn't look right to me, seems like the top is too high, out of proportion with the body. If the T- bird were a convertible I would choose it over the Olds, but it is not so today I vote Olds.
I’ve said it before in these forums, I was totally blown away when I first laid eyes on the Olds, and I still love it. I think the convertible Bird (never cared for the hardtop design) is a good looking car sitting by itself, but it seems unfair to park it beside the glorious Toronado.
I voted neither. I never liked the bullet Oldsmobile and I know Ford started moving Thunderbird toward luxury car category. Big mistake.
@geno I’ve always thought the Riv’ was a beautiful car, I just think the ‘Toro has a more sculpted and totally unique look and looked like nothing else when it previewed. To be honest, if I had my choice as a car I would drive it would be the Buick, if I had one or the other
in my personal art gallery, the Olds.
Oldsmobile made some great ones in the 60’s; the Starfire and 442 and the Toronado, it gets my vote today.

I voted for the Tbird. I liked Tbirds up to the 67 model.
