Both nice cars - I'll take either one but give the Olds a slight edge since it appears more advanced in styling.

Both nice cars but, I don't really care for either one[FoMoCo or Hudson in '51]. The Olds is more modern looking while the DeSoto is more in your face here I come. Looking at them that way I prefer the in your face look of the DeSoto slightly more than the more modern look of the Olds.

DeSoto please.

Don't care for either.  The early 50's with the bump rear quarters do not help the looks.  I went with no interest.

I really like this year Olds in spite of its slight "pout".  Its styling is more advanced; especially from the rear perspective.  The DeSoto nose seems to be lacking sufficient finish, which was rectified by '54.

Beautiful cars in great colors ! I have some 1950 or 1952 editions of either of these automobiles in scale, but I don't believe I have 1951 versions.

Ugh turned my back on the Mopar And voted for the Olds.  I like the look of the Olds except for the grill.  I would give it a look after it passed.   I can see the failure of Desoto coming from this early date from some angles it so closely resemble the Chrysler. Especially this year.

As far back as I could recall, I believed the DeSoto was redundant, as it was much too similar to the Chrysler.

@sizedoesmatter DeSoto used the same basic body as Chrysler all the way to the end in 1961.
