I going Cougar this morning.  If the Mustang was a fastback it might be a harder choice than it already is,  😎✌️

Mustang for me.  The curved rear taillights makes a big difference in the year change.

Today a tie. I usually lean toward the Mercury but honestly, they both are very attractive in 1967.

Although I am definitely a Mustang freak, I have loved the design of the '67 Cougar since the first time I saw it.  I owned a '68 and loved the driving experience.  The XR-7 is beautifully appointed as well.  Cougar wins today but the Mustang GT is very lovely as well.

LOL, if the Mustang was a fastback, I'd really NOT even look at it.  Different interests for sure.

COUGAR!  I like the Mustang roof-line and overall the car too, but side-by-side the Cougar, the Mustang doesn't cut it for '67.  Mercury hit a Grand Slam!

Cougar gets my vote. My brother bought a 1967 50 years ago and it sits in his garage gathering dust.

last time I saw it was in 2018 and it needed a full resto. I’m afraid to ask him about in now.

'67 Cougar for sure. '68 notch back, Cougar over Mustang, fastback Mustang wins, '69 - '70 Mustang all the way.

Love both but I'm going with the Cougar by the smallest of margins. I briefly considered trading my '65 Impala SS for the '67 Cougar, until I came to my senses.

@brush Bruce; it's kind of interesting to compare the Cougar and Mustang over several styling changes (1967 thru '73).  IMHO the original 1967 Cougar was gorgeous (interior features included).  The '68 was almost identical outside and slightly less attractive inside (generic steering wheel).  The '69 was still a good looking car but less so than previous years; it lost its aggressive look.  The '70 featured a grille change which gave it a prominent snout, which I found much less attractive.  The '67 and '68 Mustang coupe IMHO was a very attractive car but didn't measure up to the Cougar's styling.  In '69 however Mustang styling improved greatly, especially with their Mach I and Boss versions; leaving the Cougar styling in their dust.  In 1971 to '73 Cougar styling recovered somewhat and was fairly good looking again, especially the XR-7 (I owned a '72).  Mustang styling in '71 thru '73 declined in appearance however and other than the Mach I and Boss versions it seemed rather mundane compared to all previous years.

Here are pics (front, rear, interior) for these cars...years '67' '69, '70 & '72.
