@sizedoesmatter Thanks John, I loved taking it to shows, she usually drew a sizable group, they're rarely seen anymore, especially in our area. Every show I went to around here, it was the only one. I was even invited to use it in parades because of its exclusivity. I wish I had those pics, sadly my ex-wife has/had those. Probably long gone now.😢
Hate the GP front treatment [grill especially] and luxury is not something I look for in a car.
CHARGER none better, looks great and performs great and if ordered as the Special Edition [real leather seats & not real wood grain dash]it is luxury enough for me.
Twin to the one I had, which was a SE and a BEAUTIFUL GREEN leather interior.
John; Brush's pic reminds me....your pic is of a '68 Charger.
I think it's a brilliant matchup. Both cars were aimed at the same demographic, an upper-middle-class buyer looking for something well-equipped and exciting, neither basic transportation, nor all-out Super-Bee-muscle, but still affordable (to a degree). I love the Charger. But that GP was so over-the-top new and fresh. It had the longest hood of any production car of its time, a cockpit-like, driver-oriented dash, could be had with a monster V8/4 spd combo, and was the antithesis of the GPs that went before. It was a new era for Pontiac. I vote GP!

@jack-dodds I agree with you Jack. I too see the Dodge as a muscle car and the GP as a personal luxury car. For me, I prefer the personal luxury over muscle so it's the Pontiac for me although I wouldn't mind having the Dodge in my garage.

I voted Charger. Two of my brothers had Chargers. One was a 68,the other a 70. After 1968, I didn't like Grand Prix.
Yes, thanks Kev, I enjoyed that as well. Steve, when I moved to my current address, I didn't know it was within a block of the original owner. He still had the paperwork supporting that. He drove me nuts wanting to buy it back, after about 4 years I caved......sadly.😢
My TA payment was $60 a month…my gas cost more and I panicked and sold it. I asked the buyer to give me rights to buy it back but when he told me he’d crashed it I lost interest. I loved that Trans-Am, I only got 1 ticket for speed and that was in Northern Cali. Every local P/O or CHP gave me a warning. 🙌

@100ford2003 Steve, do you have any pics of it? I'd love to see it. Leon passed away last year, so I don't know what happened to the GP. 😟
No Geno I don’t. Those “for sale” pics got lost. I should have known better b/c I never asked the seller more info. The TA was red with white hood scoop and fender vents. And I’m sure you know the color combo for the ‘70 Trans-Am. I kick my azz just about every day for not asking. It was not a re-paint. It was owned, brand new, by a city of Placentia, CA police officer who was having a 3rd child and was “requested” by his wife to sell it.

I have ad my share of luxury cars, from Cadillac's, Lincoln, Mercedes and Jaguars. Even though I like the GP, I went with the Dodge just for pure muscle. I know I am getting older, maybe you could say I have hit my mid life crisis, but I still get a thrill from fast take off, burn outs and running 90 mph down the highway.
@100ford2003 I understand Steve, sounds like it was a hell of a nice ride. The 70-73 will always be my favorite Trans Ams.💯👍
