I like the Cyclone Spoiler, but I'd like it more if it was a GT with the hide-a-way headlights.  However, the 442 has a better-looking front end IMO, so Olds gets my vote.

The styling of both cars went larger since their separate conceptions. So they lost their alure in my eyes. For 1970, the Olds looked better by a narrow margin. Olds.

Oldsmobile. I like its looks and it had a reputation for handling. I can't get past the Mercury's nose.

I agree both are overdone from the original concept but everything was in the late 70s early 80s. My 82 Cutlass lost its sportiness but I still like the Olds better than the Mercury.

Both nice. I slightly prefer the Mercury Cyclone.

I don't dislike but I don't like either one. I would have bought a Charger or GTX or Coronet R/T[oh, I did buy one].  Tie for these two today.

Only mine had the duel hood scoops.

Oldsmobile for me. The front end of that  Mercury, like that of the T-Bird and Pontiac, of the era are a real turn off to me.

@brush

That would be my winner too. I love the double loop bumper and the soft trapezoidal hardtop.

I like both but it's the 442 that wins my vote.
