This is another "no-contest" for me. The DODGE CHALLENGER please! Sadly for my taste, Pontiac RUINED the Firebird styling by this time.

Lessor of two evils, Voted Dodge. Too new.
The Firebird still had some guts. Pontiac was desperately trying to hold on to its performance image. In '74, you could still order it with a 455 and 310 HP. The T/A kept the flame burning for decades after the seventies. 1974 was the last year for the Challenger. The biggest engine available was the 245 HP 360.

Not an outstanding year. I go with the Dodge Challenger here but just by a small margin. I had the Dodge that year. It was an unreliable gas guzzler but likely the Firebird was no better.
Firebird for me, although both cars got hit with the post 1972 ugly stick bumpers.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
@georgeschire I agree with George on this one. I have been a MOPAR fan since the early sixties.
Challenger by a narrow margin. Last year for that beautiful design.
Dodge Challenger, as Bob said above for its beautiful design
I like the Firebird a bit more this year. They still looked fairly good with the round headlight design and Challenger ruined the grille appearance this year IMHO.
I like that TransAm just a bit better.
