The Forty-Eight for me. I love the long, sweeping ponton fenders, front to back. The Forty-Nine was transitioning to a more modern era car and combined the classic rear ponton fender with the upcoming era's lack of same on the front fender design. The two eras did not compliment one another in my personal viewpoint.
I'll overlook the big grille on the '49 and vote for it and its smooth sides.

I agree with Tony's assessment though I like the way the straight, ponton front fender runs to the top of the rear.
To my eye, the '49 Buick is one of the all-time styling greats!

I'm a big fan of the 47/48 Buicks. While I like the 49, I vote 48 slightly ahead of it. Before I saw the comments I was convinced the majority would vote for the 49 but I was mistaken.
I like both. But my vote goes for the '49 due to the wider grill and the smoother sides. Those improvements over the '48 makes it look more modern to my eyes.

Like them both. Agree with George and voted 49.
49’s fender lines, curved windshield and those iconic portholes does it for me.

Both designs are beautiful...today I'm going with the '48.
