I've always liked the first-gen Monte Carlo. It was classy, but not really distinctive. The '73 A- Body GM cars were game changers. The personal luxury car arrived in the affordable sector of the market. This was a T-Bird, Mark III, Riviera, etc that everyone could consider buying. The '73 Monte Carlo led the style in this group, setting a new trend for neo-classic design, nimble handling, and upscale interiors. It's unfortunate that all this came with the new regulations, big bumpers, and emasculated V8s. IMO, the '73 Cutlass and Regal handled the big bumpers far better than the Monte Carlo.

Tough call. Today I'm going with the '72.
Gents, thanks for your replies.
