The '61 was the girl who would actually go to the prom with me, a fine-looking lass. But, the '62 was the one I was afraid to ask. She became the prom queen.

In 68 the 61 looked old but the 62 was what a lot of the cool kids were buying up and modifying.

Like them both, '62 by an rch [royal/red pubic hair]. '61 to '64 both Chevy & Ford were great in my opinion.

Prefer the formal top of the '62, never cared for the bubble top.

Either one could sit in my garage with no worry of getting kicked to the curb. I voted '61, ONLY, by virtue of it's deeper blue color.

This one is about as close as it gets.  The '62 roofline and tail light surround gives it the nod; plus it is my fave Chevy of the '60s.  Come to think of it there wasn't a bad one in that entire decade.  IMHO the Chevy styling slide started in 1970-71.

Agree!  The best looking Poncho ever designed....followed closely by the '63 Bonneville and/or Grand Prix.

I like both.  But without any hesitation, I choose the '62.  In my opinion is was the best looking Chevy of the sixties, ranking even ahead of the beautiful'65.  The '61 was worlds better than the previous messy '60 and of General Motors ladder line-up, it was the best looking of their fleet.  But when GM cranked out the '62, it was a ball hit completely out of the park for Chevy!

Again John B. makes me decide which of my kids is ugly and which is beautiful. In this case, both are beautiful. Please don't tell the 62 it got edged out by the smallest of margins.

Interesting how we have different opinions when it comes to cars.  In the case of the SIXTIES CHEVY's, to my eyes the three most beautiful eye-poppers are in this order:  1) '62  2) '65  3) '61.  The rest of decades Chevy's lose me completely.

LOL Mr. Jackman, I once got lambasted here on the Forum for referring to a car as "ugly".  I was told by saying that, I'm insulting someone who may find the same car "beautiful".  Of course I disagreed with that sentiment, but the individual who took me to task was adamant that "his" opinion was correct.  But alas, I stand firm that if a car to ones eyes can be "beautiful", then it can also to another's eyes be "ugly".  It's all in the eyes of the beholder and they need to realize that not everyone likes the same cars.

@jack-dodds

I'm glad you put your post on the wrong thread because I  also love the 1963 Pontiac, especially the Grand Prix.
