For me it's '57, '58 and '59.

Yes 57, 58, 59 but the 57 58 closer choice than I thought after looking at the 58 closely from the article posted by John the other day. 👀

For me the 58, 59, 57. You don't see many 58's but I think it has better lines that the 57 and 59.
It's the '57 styling by a wide margin for me, then the '59 and '58. I love the '57...like the other two very much.
58, 57, 59. I always liked the 58's deviation from the "round taillights". And I like the grille better than the other two as well.

59, 57, 58- side trim on 58 did nothing for the car- never like the taillights on the 58 either-
A friend had a new '57, yellow and white, very much like the one illustrated above. Then and now, I think it's a beaut! The '58 imo was just an attempt to cheaply distinguish it from the previous year, and the '59 was bulky. '57 for me, but I was driving a Chevy at that time.
I know the '57 is popular and I agree, it's a great design. But, to my eye, it is so...so...1957. Nothing wrong with that, it was a banner year for car design. I like it. I like the '58 too. But, I believe Ford did a much better job than all the other makers of transitioning into the sxities with their design for 1959. Instead of shouting "Fifties!" like everyone else was (and doing that very well), it sucessfully announced, "Things are about to change!" and did it tastefully, IMO. So, my vote is '59, '57 '58.

1957 by a landslide. To me it's so pretty. 1959 next, winner of the Brussels Design Award (too much beer?). 1958 is to me a mess.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

I like how you explained your reasons for the '59 John. Got me to thinking of 1959 automobiles overall and my mind started to rank their FINS. Of the Big Three autom-makers top of the line cars, my ranking ended up like this:
1. MERCURY
2. OLDSMOBILE
3. PONTIAC
4. BUICK
5. CHEVROLET
6. DESOTO
7. CHRYSLER
8. DODGE
9. FORD
10. CADILLAC
11. IMPERIAL
12. PLYMOUTH
13. LINCOLN
14. EDSEL

George, you left out Studebaker, even if it wasn't one of the Big Three.
