56, 57, 55. Ask me later and it could be the reverse. Ask after that it could be different still. Moral of the story is that OLDSMOBILE for these three years were sheer beauty on wheels. And being honest, every year for the 50's, in my opinion, Oldsmobile was the most consistent styling leader.

@georgeschire And of course the dashboard of the '56 may have influenced your choice, right George?

Right you are Jack! The '56 Oldsmobile dashboard is my favorite of all Fifties cars. I'll say it again, liking the dashboard of a car I'm going to be driving for a long period of time, I have to like what I'm looking at. The '56's makes my eyes happy! Which brings me to todays UGLY computer screen dashboards. Hideous! I hope I don't have to consider purchasing another new car in my lifetime. My current car is 13 years old with (only) 72,000 miles on it, so I'm hoping it's my last car.

Going with the '56 for sentimental reasons. Then it's the '57 and '55.
Gents, thanks for your responses.

Even though I owned a ‘55 Super 88 for a very short time I like the ‘56 a bit better.
