The GP is on a whole different level! The example you chose for the post has everything going for it to shame any challenger from 1963. The color, the eight lugs, a holy smokin’ 421, (and I’ll bet a dollar to a donut, a 4 speed), got me drooling all over my iPad, Oh, by the way, I’m choosing the Poncho.

OK John, now you're just sitting there chuckling to yourself and doing the mix & match thing making everyone crazy!! Well it's working - Arrrggghhhh!

LOL!

I love the 62 Starfire; my favorite year of that model. BUT, I also love the 63 Grand Prix. In fact I love it like CRAZY! Low, lean, clean, shapely with killer wheels and interior. Pontiac for me please and, by the way, keep them coming, you are the Master of "Which" Craft!!

Yikes! Two gorgeous designs, two amazing interiors, two near-iconic cars. Only because I don't like ties, I'm voting for the GP. The overall feel is a little less busy, a little more refined...but not much. They're both beautiful.

Pontiac: '61, '64 I love; '62, '63 I like; '57, '59 are nice; just don't care for other full-size Pontiacs.

Oldsmobile: Love the '62; like the '63, '57; just don't care for other full-size Oldsmobiles.

Today a TIE, against the '64 Grand Prix it would have won.

Having owned two 62 Starfire hardtops I was sure I would pick the Olds but the Pontiac is my pick by a close margin. The stacked headlights and eight lug wheels did it for me. Thanks for the great comparison John, it was interesting.

The Starfire is nice but a bit overdone. It's the GP for me with the cleaner look.

Gents, thanks for your replies.
