Hey John, both T-Birds look great, but at least in this color combination, I am leaning towards the 1960 model. I clearly remember building both of these, and my plastic kit (AMT?) had a tonneau cover and I left the fender skirts off. That aside, the 1960 has a more robust look to the front end, more squared off, but I like the taillight treatment of the 1961 model a bit better. I currently collect Mercedes die-cast models now, and I still have a Chrysler Turbine plastic kit unassembled. One day, I may assemble it. Thanks for posting. R

I prefer the more streamlined lines of the 1961 Thunderbird. That said, I much prefer the 1955 to 1957 Thunderbirds best.
The '61 wins easily. I agree with David's statement almost completely.....the small difference being that butt wart spoiling the '56.
For those that voted, interesting to note that the "Square-Bird" is ahead. I'd have thought it would be the other way around. Also the comments supporting the little "Baby-Birds" (1955-57) is interesting, since (in my opinion) there is no comparison to them and their larger '58 and beyond models. I've personally never been a fan of the "Baby-Birds", as they are just "too small" for my taste. I've often referred to them as "Go-Carts". But hey friends, that's just me. They certainly do have their audience of lovers.
