Power out, 4th day, a 20 lb tank of propane each day, no water [well is 220 and generator is 110] but I have enough to flush twice a day in many bottles saved for just that purpose. 14" of heavy wet snow last Thursday, trees & wires down everywhere, snow blower went through 5 shear pins, 2", 2.5", 1.5" limbs hidden in the snow. Driveway is 300' long with 4' of snow at the road thanks to plowing of the dirt road complete with stones. Got the tractor stuck 300' from the garage and the nearest shovel, I can't walk without my walker or cane. Waited 10 minutes, nobody went buy [dead end dirt road], had to call 911 [everybody I know had no phone service] embarrassing, especially when the cop showed up and said "stuck I see" laughing until I told him I am handicapped and can not walk. He went and got the shovel and dug me out. It sucks living alone! Not to mention being OLD!!
I'm sorry to hear this Bruce. Do you have family or friends living nearby who are able to assist you as required?
God bless you! Hope, as Jack says, there is SOMEONE who can help!
@jack-dodds NO. Closest family member is 70 miles away.
Keep your phone handy and if you need to do another 911, don't hesitate. Thank God for people like your light-hearted people officer. Keep heart - even New Hampshire will see Spring - hopefully soon!
Try to hang in there with the supplies you have on hand Bruce. Failing that perhaps the police may be able to refer you to an assistance organization in your area; they usually are present in most areas.
