Have you always dreamt of doing the Nürburgring aka the Nordschleife ?

Well, better check if you wallet can handle the drain.

Because here are some prices in Euros:

1 trip all around E30,-

Hitting the safety-rails: E28,- per meter.

Installation-costs per meter: E69,-

Need a safetycar: E69,- per 30 minutes.

Need to close the "Ring" because of your accident: E1500,- per 30 minutes.

Towing: between E250,- and E350,-

All ex taxes.

Check your insurance for more info, but if you hit some-one, they will surely try to get you to pay all expenses.

Any volunteers left ?

I’m fine just driving the 405 thru the Sepulveda Pass!
footnote: I just heard that approximately  400,000 vehicles a day travel that route.

I would expect there are costs for those things happening.

It certainly would be a bragging point to say you (and your car) have done the Nurburgring course, but really deep pockets would be a requirement ! Wink

The 405 is bad enough without going up that hill!

Lol, so you know about it !! A few years ago the work van I was driving had a front tire blow-out. I was able to pull next to the center divider. No fun waiting for 511 to rescue me. Those guys are GREAT !! 👍

Sounds like the Garden State Parkway but Nurburgring is less expensive.

I’m glad to not ever driven in NJ !  My insurance is high enough. In Cali I have to pay a commercial fee cause my Explorer is a Sport Trak. It has a pick-up bed behind the four doors as opposed to the Explorer SUV. I pay an extra $81 fee for this ‘privilige’.

Never been there. A bunch of coworkers took a train there for a Tina Turner concert in 84 or 85. I had to work.

I've driven the Garden State Parkway many, many times. Loved it! My grandmother lived in West Wildwood and our large family summered there each year. Much later and before he moved back to Florida, my brother owned a hotel in Wildwood and I visited, using the Parkway again. Always had a deep love of Jersey, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and lovely Cape May.

Fond, fond memories - grandma, family, fishing, crabbing, boardwalks, penny candy (as a kid but still cheap as an adult) sleeping in the attic with 8 cousins!!
