Pretty harsh analogy between the Ford and the other. But a finish THAT bright is probably not a good idea.

Surely it was a Chevy, GMC, Dodge or Toyota guy who posted that initially. The Ford F-Series has been America's best-selling truck for almost 50 years! ...hardly a "turd." That being said, if that's a genuine pic (not CGI ) .... that's a hell of alot of work!
The entire truck would have to come apart, then get dipped & stripped, then sanded & filled, then polish & sealed, then reassembled & polished again.... HOLY COW! Just paint it silver! 😬 😳 😯 😬

Maybe it was vinyl wrapped?
True... that would be a far less expensive (although still not cheap ) way to achieve a polished aluminum look.
