@sizedoesmatter I feel very blessed to have been alive back then. That’s just one of many, many good memories from that era!
McDonald's and also Big Boy hamburgers were always great, along with White Castle burgers. They're still around, along with Burger King, Steak n' Shake and Culver's. Now I am hungry !
No.... the first McD's burger I ever had was in the early 1980's.....and they weren't .15 cents. But of course, they weren't $8 either - like they are today. 🙄 😫 😔
I remember our Burger Chef, it was a block over from our high school. Or The Spot restaurant which sat on the opposite corner. Our usual hangouts for lunch. Good times.😊
I LOVED that show! Great acting all around and the story line(s) seemed to represent the reality of that era and slimy business so well! And then of course there was the last episode where Don Draper is having a reflective moment considering his rather messed up life...and then he hears the Coca Cola jingle line spoken nearby. Classic ending!

"Yes, a great show indeed."
OK guys, I must tell you - I love the show - seen them all, etc. etc... - although the ending was good, I didn't think it was great. Matthew Weiner teased us for over a year about "the ending."
I really thought he was going to do "my ending!"
Ready?
- If you calculate the timeline - do the math - Don Draper would have been in his 60's when 9-11 occurred. I would've had Don in an office, at the World Trade Center after the plane struck but before the collapse. He would've been trapped, faced with only two choices: Remain and burn/die of smoke inhalation - OR- jump.
Don would've jumped, thereby mimicking the show's opening titles of Don falling to his death. And THAT's how MAD MEN should've ended.
Directed by Matthew Weiner, written by Christopher Moroni.
Since the original viewing we must have replayed the complete series a least 4 times...never a dull moment.I LOVED that show!
