Retirement.

Best job I've ever had. Seems most times that I remember working all my life. From paperboy at 12 - 13 years old, to window washing, to being a Bond Bread delivery man to A&P meat wrapper and fish department man. Worked summers with step dad as electrician, with brother as a roofer and brother-in-law boxing baby clothes at Nannette!! After the Army I spent 45 years in the Commercial Casualty Insurance field and it is unbelievable as I think back on it, that I have actually been retired for 14 years! (2012). I stay as busy now as when I was working. Dang!!

...everyday is Saturday.    😉 

I started working part-time at various jobs when I was 13 years old. Forced into retirement at 60 years old. I didn't realize just how great retirement would be...it's underrated for sure.

I love it too. I was able to retire 12 years ago at 59.

When and if you’re over 65, that’s allowed 🤣

I started mowing lawns and cleaning garages and basements. Then at 16 my cousin got me into the record room at a local hospital as a clerk after school and summers.  I got to know the nun who was the pharmacist down the hall at the hospital and a year and half before I graduated from high school I worked in the hospital pharmacy. Led me to study To be a pharmacist.   When I graduated from Pharmacy school I went back to work with the nun at the hospital back home. After ya been to the city going home to a small town won’t do.  So after a year I was off to the city and retail drug store.  4 years long and varied hours mild burn out set in so I found a job at a big city hospital.  6 years later I found myself working for a government agency. Spent some 32 years at the agency. Retired two years ago. It was a hard decision to make and I didn’t really want to but it was time. I was lost for about year wondering what to do.  I missed the stress. Finally calming down and beginning to enjoy retirement. 

I retired on my 58th birthday, 17 years ago.  I swear I'm busier now than when I was working.

I retired back in 2001 at 61 1/2 because of health issues. Wanted to retire before something might happen. Never thought I would have lived this long after retiring.

I keep my self-busy not as much as when I worked at American Airlines 34 yrs 3 days 8 hrs. when I punched out. Before that worked with my father in construction remodeling homes around 13 yrs off and on. Along with that a food store stock clerk (Grand Union) 13 yrs also.

Now been retired for 25 yrs. 85 now in 4 months will be 86 never thought I would have made it this far.  Have really had the time to get to know my son now. All those yrs working two jobs while he was growing up. Guess miracles can happen. Even with some of my issues now.  I'm happy that God has given me an enjoyable retirement time.

GOOD for you. It takes time and takes a toll until your mind is fully ready. I still have dreams of working. I chastise myself upon awaking - HA! Allow yourself to enjoy what you've worked so hard to earn.

I hear THAT! And staying busy, no matter what you make that entail, is the key to enjoying and staying with us!!
