That 'front up' rake was always somewhat strange to look at. But with a front wheel drive, it looks more purposeful!

The "backup rake" reminds me of my dad's '54 Chrysler. The prior owner carried heavy tools and supplies in the trunk, so the car was equipped with helper rear springs and shocks. We referred to his car as "the rake".

I forgot till just now that I put air shocks on my '61 Country Sedan to give it that raked look. Geez, that was 55 yrs ago. 😂

Yep. Remember the rubber wedges they sold that you could 'twist' into the coil spring spaces to stiffen the ride height? Twice as many up front for supposed rear traction. Or in the rear for a cool looking 'in-the-weeds' front rake.
