The Refrigerator.
A guy bought a new fridge for his house.
To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a
sign on it saying:
'Free to good home. You want it, you take it.'
For three days the fridge sat there without anyone looking twice.
He eventually decided that people were too mistrustful of this deal.
So he changed the sign to read: 'Fridge for sale, $100.'
The next day someone stole it!
Yep that would do it.
Apparently he doesn’t have H.O.A. in his neighborhood; they would have fined him after an hour or so.

Sounds about right. 💯
But of course!

Geeez, true story - we just bought a new frig. Home Depot. We had to pay a fee for them to 'hook up' the new one; level it, connect the water line with the optional braided steel hose and pay a $50 fee for them to haul off the old one!!
I agree about the H. O. A. comment above. I'm all for them by the way, as they prevent idiots from making a neighborhood look like a run down mobile home park. Last summer some clown in my neighborhood about 10 houses from me, put a huge BBQ Grill next the curb in the street in front of his house. It literally sat there for over a month. I'm guessing none of his immediate neighbors had issues with it because it sat there for that length of time.
What's worse, apparently no one from our city or law enforcement seemed bothered by it either. Finally, being unable to look at it in the street everyday when I drove by his house, I called City Hall and reported and complained about it. The next morning it was gone!
I found it sad that this type of thing didn't seemingly bother anyone but me and that our city didn't have the smarts to give this clown a citation. Even sadder is that, this is just one of many things in my neighborhood that is bringing it down in appearance quality. People today just don't care!

@georgeschire He just forgot the sign, George.
Trust me, this loser isn't smart enough to think of a sign. It appears he's running some sort of business out of his home. His yard looks like the city dump! He's got big machinery laying around, huge tractors, lawn mowers (not sure why, he doesn't cut his lawn), several big trucks, just junk everywhere! Again, these are things that H. O. A's. would be a Godsend.
When we moved in our neighborhood 33 years ago, it was a new development started in 1986, so all new houses. Today, these 33 years later, homeowners have come and gone with some houses re-sold multiple times. Each NEW tenant, it gets worse! And trust me, when some of these homeowners are talked to, it's evident after just a few words that their I. Q's. are likely in single digits.
Homeownership should be for those that want to and will take pride in the neighborhood, and for those choose not to do this, keep them the hell out! There are apartments and trailer parks for them! I'll tell you another problem is the so-called "affordable housing" efforts provided for people by the government. My personal definition of "affordable housing" is, "If you can afford it, you can live here". If you can't afford it, I don't want them coming in to the neighborhood and bringing down the values of my/other homes because of their lack of character and respect.
And don't even get me started on the number houses in my neighborhood that have 4, 5, 6, 7, even 8 cars lined up in their driveways and on the street! One guy has 8 cars, 5 of them that haven't been moved or driven in 3 years or more! Now why someone keeps a car that doesn't run or he doesn't drive or even move, is beyond my comprehension! And get this...every home in my neighborhood has double and 3-car garages, but most of these multi-car owners DON'T use their garage for their cars! I can't come to grips with that rationale. When their garage doors are open, which is most of the time, the garage is piled wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling with boxes and junk. One guy has this distinction, he sits on an old lawn chair most of the time in the summer in front of the garage (with the door open), smoking cigarettes all day. Driving by his trash hole, I wonder if I've accidently come upon the local city dump! Why someone has a garage and they don't put their cars in them, is something I'll not live long enough to ever understand. There are two houses in the block over from me that have a SMASHED up car sitting in their driveway, both of them for well over a couple of years. WHY???
