Regular comments and grumbles on this topic in The Lounge.
I just came across a fun take on the subject by Yusuf (a.k.a. Cat Stevens) who at the age of 70-something can still knock out a neat riff.

I like it!!
Well, I'm glad somebody did! I had expected the sentiments expressed in the song might have provoked more "thumbs up", but you never can tell.
Maybe a more low-key statement of touchy-feely worldly wisdom (from the same album) would appeal more

And if that doesn't work either, well, fair enough, you old guys just stick with your Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden and don't mind me.

At the age of 85 plus, I have never looked at movies or music as guides to my outlook on life. Entertainment? Perhaps. Oh, and for the record, I like Cat Stevens for his musical talent but don't look to him for his story telling. I'm quite sure this opinion is based on my rather low IQ and inability to understand world shaking philosophies.
Well, I wasn't seriously suggesting anyone should look to Cat Stevens (or any other singer or movie-maker or whatever) for serious philosophical guidance. I was just trying to offer a light-hearted interlude - perhaps particularly suited to persons of low IQ, although it hadn't actually occurred to me there were any of those in The Lounge. We live and learn.
Only joking. (I thought I'd better say that to avoid getting my knuckles rapped by the Forum's notorious Moral Oversight Committee).

@graeme-ogg If the Moral Oversight Committee allows me on this sight you have no fear of getting your knuckles rapped. As for me Graeme, please continue to post here as I enjoy your contributions even if I don't understand some of them.
@graeme-ogg Graeme; I feel compelled to jump in here and vouch for Bob J.s level of intellect as he is in fact a secret member of our Think Tanked elite....and a big tipper in the apres meeting Lounge.
Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Seger, James Taylor to name a few I prefer.
Well, I think that definitely proves a point, but being a diplomatically-minded soul I would not even venture to suggest what that point might be.@graeme-ogg Graeme; I feel compelled to jump in here and vouch for Bob J.s level of intellect as he is in fact a secret member of our Think Tanked elite.

Dear Sir Graeme,
I apologize profusely for my lack of awareness of this fine musical piece. In my heyday I listened to too much "Black Saturday" and "Ironing Maiden" and this may have had a +/- effect on my gray matter. I shall try to listen to the "Cat" once more. Thank-you for your contributions towards enabling we Forum members to become better humans.
Steve
T'would appear thou hast been duly dubbed Sir Graeme.....congratulations! Don't let it change you, oh valued member of the Think Tanked brohood.
