Interesting pic. Looks like there are some stripped Birds on the transport. I'm used to seeing Thunderbirds with fender skirts, white wall tires, and full wheel covers.

I agree with you, but that was the standard equipment.
Here's a partial list of optional equipment for the '55 Thunderbird: power seat, power windows, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, Fordomatic trans, white sidewall tires, tach, clock, cigarette lighter, hard top, soft top, heater, radio, fender skirts, full wheel covers, etc. You didn't get much with the basic Bird!
Interesting picture and comments. I have never seen a stripped down Thunderbird on the road.
I wonder where they all went. Possibly dealers added extras once they arrived.
