John this was really a fun read compiled by Terry (the author?). All the photos were simply great (some I've seen before) but two, however, really stuck out. The "McDonalds photo" (with the 1955 Chrysler & Chevy) is not a vintage pic, like the others.
The second photo to catch my eye, that I assume was mistaken for "real cars," is that of the 1956 Buick, 1954 Cadillac and 1956 Chrysler all parked in front of Pennsylvanian passenger train cars. These are, in fact, 1/24 diecast replicas staged by the late Michael Paul Smith and publish in his book, "Elgin Park, American life."
It's fair to say, he'd be proud to see one of his photos treated with such reverence.
Actually, there's 3. That 1956 Chrysler is also a 1/24 DM. As I noted, that "photo" is, in fact, a Michael Paul Smith pic (from Elgin Park). 🙂
...unless you meant to say, "I saw two of MY Danbury Mint......."
Fantastic reminder of how much I would love to be back in that era. Not without its problems of course, but the daily lifestyle would appeal to me much more than now. Then there's the CARS !!!!
I forgot bout that one ! My bad, oops !

Actually, when I think of the latest Mustangs I don't even include the SUV.
@chris - That strange noise you hear is the sound of me removing my foot from my mouth. Sorry, I didn't read the posts after the OP. I should have read them before commenting. I didn't know it was a Michael Paul Smith diorama and was fooled by the photos. Also, I didn't know he has passed away. I'm sorry to hear that.
....I've had to remove my foot "once or twice" before too; I'm used to that sound...LoL. It's all good brother. That fact that Michael Paul Smith fooled someone of your caliber is yet ANOTHER reason why he'd be proud today. I'm sure he's smiling.
He passed on Nov. 19, 2018 at age 67.
Well done! This was a trip down memory lane for me, and it was great fun. 1957 was the year I finished high school and started college. If I were going to add a photo to the above montage, it would be cars on the Blue Ridge Parkway, nearing completion in that year. It was a special year for me!
Being born in 1942 this is about my era. Ironically, I had a discussion with a cousin of mine, who is two years younger than me, a couple of days ago about the cost of everything today. I can't imagine what it costs to raise kids these days.
Now a thousand bucks for a family of four to spend a day at Disney Land! OMG!
Thanks for the walk back in time.
