I used to buy 2 door cars because the doors were longer making them easier to get into & out of but in the last 25 years they made them all so low [I can't do the limbo at all any more] so I an left with SUVs and or pick-ups and the smaller 5 pass. SUVs the doors are too short and the leg room is lacking in most. Â
The easy way to get out of a sports car is to rotate on your butt and place your legs and feet out and onto the ground. Then place your hands on the doorsill and lift yourself out....works every time.
I have owned my 61 Corvette for 49 years and I must say that I don't drive it as often as I used to because of the getting in and getting out just aren't fun anymore. The most comfortable cars we have for getting into and out of are the 63 Thunderbird Sports Roadster with it's swing away steering wheel, the 55 Imperial because it's just big and our mid sized SUV. Surprisingly our Crown Victoria and 79 Lincoln Continental Mark V are not all that comfortable getting into and out of but quite comfortable once you are seated. I highly doubt that I will ever buy another sedan in the future. Oh and the seating position in the SUV is far superior for long trips.
That would be me. A few years ago we made a trip back to Ohio and my cousin gave us her Miata to drive. I never did master the art of enter and exit in that car.
