I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.

I had my patience tested. I'm negative.

When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.  That can be a deliberate decision.

When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?"

When I get up from a chair, is my left knee supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?  Of course, the silence of the right knee cost me many thousands of dollars and a month in rehabilitation after a total replacement.

I don't mean to interrupt people. I just, randomly, remember things and get excited.

Being past 80?  It's better than the most common alternative.

                    Enjoy!  David H Wink

At 83 I have found that getting "old" is not for the "faint of heart"!

At 81 I agree with the above two posts.

David Holcombe, what you have said about aging is priceless. I have just had a successful right knee total replacement. It’s fixed and doesn’t hurt any more. I am scheduled for the left knee on January 25. It feels like the left knee you have described. Next time somebody asks what I did over the weekend, I will have a response. Thanks, David! I’m tempted to send a copy of your post to 2,198 of my closest friends. That is good stuff.

David, All we can do is live for today and remember all those bright points on the road of life. Stay positive! We have a lot of 80s club members, including myself.

I will hit that milestone next year in March.

These past five years, healthwise, have been . . . interesting if not humbling.

If all of you Octogenarians aint gettin` free cookies and coffee wherever you happen to be,send me a self addressed,pre-paid box and I`ll see to it PERSONALLY that you get a cookie!!

I`ve been studying on this some (I have another nine years to make a determination) and have found a viable correlation between being a Dave or David and going full Octo at some point
