LOL.  I know I'm just another grumpy old guy but so often I am bewildered by modern parents who just let their kids scream and yell and act out regardless of who or what all their commotion impacts.  I just do not understand how these children can learn respect and other valuable qualities that serve then well in later life.  It's weird...sure different from the equally wrong "children are to be seen but not heard" attitude heard frequently in my childhood.  The pendulum has swung both ways in my lifetime; hopefully it will come to rest somewhere in the middle next generation.

Two good ones David! Walmart is sure an adventure. As per Forest Gump, "You never know what you're gonna get."

People don't have to have brains to reproduce.  As for the Freaks, society as a whole is hideous to look at with all the tattoos, nose rings and other body piercings etc.  There is absolutely no dress code anywhere anymore.

Jack, I've given up hope that the pendulum is going to ever be on middle ground again.  As long as we live in a society that allows people to do what they want, so as to not hurt their feelings, we're doomed.

@georgeschire I don't expect to see much change in my lifetime George; change is really slow as you know.  I just try to avoid it all as best I can.  There are so very many positive and cheerful people and things to experience out there that are more worthy of attention.

People in general don't look at themselves in a mirror anymore.  Because if they did, they'd not leave their house looking as they do.  It's a circus out there.

"I am bewildered by modern parents who just let their kids scream and yell regardless of who or what their commotion impacts."

True story:

"100 years ago,"  while working in a mall, I witnessed a very young mother leaving her son (4-5 ) in a toy store while she shopped close by.   After 10 minutes I noticed the little boy was becoming understandably anxious.   Knowing his mother was nearby, I nonetheless asked him if he was lost.   He quietly replied, "Yes."

I notified mall Security, they came & talked to him, and is the custom, walked him down to the Security office.   Twenty minutes later mom returned.  I asked, "Are you looking for a little boy?"      "Yes, I am,"  she replied.    I said, "Well, he looked lost and a bit scared, so I called mall Security, they have him now - in their office."

She answered, "Oh, Security has him... OK, well if they come back, tell them I'm at Nothern Reflections....."

@chris Unbelievable...actually it's not. It seem like those are the ones who multiply.

Kids are only the image of the parenting they get...or don't get.  Sadly, it takes brains to raise a child...and NO BRAINS to make a child.
