@graeme-ogg I actually spent time considering how much difference just a minor trim off the tail made.  I thought that an amount of rear trim somewhere between the two images shown might be just perfect.  It's amazing how much difference an inch makes in overall effect in car design.

I had another go at it, but to my eye something between the original and my "Crop 1" would hardly be enough to improve the over-long appearance. I chose instead to take another couple of inches off (Crop 2).

But I'd go for the middle version as the best visual balance.

Version 2 for me please!

The front wheel well opening needs to be taken in a bit. but overall, I'm in.

Just for comparison, if you want it a bit shorter in the tail, to make the rear overhang more in proportion with the front  . . .

Packard shortened

+1 to my liking !

I like your crop #1 Graeme,

Back when sedans were the most popular body style sold many manufacturers stretched the more expansive models.

The 1964 Bonneville  had a 3 inch longer wheelbase and was 7 inches longer over all than the Catalina; all in the trunk., I always liked the shorter cars best.

@david-vandermeer, I did as well. The proportions seemed more balanced.
