Mid size El Camino.  Could have worked!

....well, it worked for Ford but I'm not sure how much of a market was "left over"  for anything GM may have proposed.

Rancharo 2

This Chevrolet looks great ! It would have made a really nice vehicle.

It seems likely someone, somewhere made one as a custom...  🤔 🤔

I have always wondered why GM didn't produce this Chevy II El Camino to compete with the Falcon; I think it would have sold very well.

Notice the Corvair van and the covered mystery car in the background (the new Corvette Sting Ray?!).  I'd love to have one of these Chevy II El Caminos.  If Chevrolet produced them, they would most likely be very popular and sought after today.  Ford produced roughly 20,000 1960-1965 Rancheros per year, so there was a market for this type of car/truck.

I like that Chevy, however I would have been more inclined to get the Ranchero. Jus sayin cuz I'm basically a Ford guy at heart.

...looks like the covered company BBQ set used for outdoor lunches on Fridays.   Billy Mitchell was a grill master!  😏

Yeah but I'll bet that grill was designed by Harley Earl... 🤪
