1965 is as close to perfection for a full size Chevy as it gets IMO. I especially love the hardtop. 1966 is a close second. 1964 not so much.
Ed, I agree with you about the hardtop.
I also agree! For the 1960's Chevrolet was perfect for two years, the '62 and the '65. Both to my eyes classic styling and easy to look at. From front to back the lines flowed with beauty.
Loved that the '65 looked like it was already moving due to its front end styling. The roofline on the hardtop flows beautifully into those coke bottle styled rear quarters. The kicker for me is also those three taillights in back.
@pete-rovero Pete, your wagon puts it in a whole different category....rare and beautiful. I have always loved station wagons and when I see one at a show, I instantly gravitate to it.
I'll buck the trend with this one. I like all three, but I have to choose the '64 1st. The '65 & '66 are next, but I'll take any of them.
I have to agree with you Bob J. Although the '64 is much more of a squared off design, it has grabbed me from the first time I set eyes on my neighbor's new '64 Impala SS HT in metallic burgundy. The '65 is a gorgeous car for sure and is a very close second place. The '66 is a nice looking car but no match for the '65. The tail light change for '66 I can live with but the "softening" of the beautiful and aggressive looking grille of the previous year really detracted.
